    Bob is a writer and speaker, having written five books about advertising, each an Amazon #1 seller.

    Bob is one of the most sought-after speakers on advertising and marketing in the world.  He has been invited to speak about advertising and marketing in 24 countries, including speaking to members of both the British and European Parliaments.

    Bob's blog, “The Ad Contrarian”, was named one of the world's most influential marketing and advertising blogs by Business Insider.

    Before leaving the advertising business, Bob was the chief executive of two independent ad agencies and the US operation of an international agency.

    His commentary has appeared in the BBC World Service, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, MSNBC, The Financial Times, The Australian, New Zealand Public Broadcasting, Fox News, Sky News, Forbes, Canadian Public Broadcasting, and many other news outlets throughout the world.

    One of his books, "BadMen: How Advertising Went From A Minor Annoyance To A Major Menace" exposed many of the dangerous privacy abuse practices that have gone on to make international headlines. It was selected "Best of Marketing 2017".

    He has served on the boards of the Advertising and Marketing International Network, the Foundation for Osteoporosis Research and Education, and the PGA Foundation of Northern California. He spent one year as Special Assistant to the Executive Director of the California Academy of Sciences.

    July 7th   Jeff Schmidt

    Jeff likes to start with why, and Jeff’s why is: To Inspire engage, educate, equip, and empower people to believe in themselves, have confidence in their abilities, and achieve even greater levels of success - however they define success.

    While his mother wanted him to become a preacher or a lawyer, Jeff Schmidt became a salesperson with the Midwest Family Broadcast Group in the 80s. Jeff has been “on air”, “on the streets” as a successful seller and sales manager, general manager, and regional manager. Jeff has navigated the complexities of working for small independently owned companies, and excelled in the corporate arena. Jeff also worked as partner with founder Chris Lytle’s in his “Instant Sales Training” doing corporate sales development in a number of different industries before being lured away as Senior Vice President to build the RAB’s Nationwide Professional Development program.  He also worked developing the brand presentation you will see when you attend.

    August 11th  Jeffrey Allen "SkunkBaxter 

    Jeff “Skunk”” Baxter is a guitarist and founding member of Steely Dan, and lead guitarist for The Doobie Brothers during the 1970s. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Doobie Brothers in 2020.  Currently he works with The US Department of Defense as a defense consultant, chairing a Congressional Advisory Board on missile defense, and at the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory.   “Skunk” is also a nationally and internationally renowned public speaker on the topics of innovation and asymmetrical thinking in business.  This is rock n’ roll thinking like you’ve never imagined it!

    Renee Richardson, Director of Philanthropy Metallica’s All Within My Hands

    Renée Richardson joined the Metallica family in 2019 as Associate Director of the Foundation. After a 20-year radio career in the San Francisco Bay Area on the now-defunct KFOG FM (insert foghorn), she decided it was time to pivot and do something more rewarding with her life. In 2016, inspired by a culture of philanthropy in the Bay Area, she signed on as the Director of Development for Blue Bear School of Music (the original school of Rock!) where she promoted the idea of music education for all. Today, Renée remains an active member of the Board of Trustees for Blue Bear School of Music, as well as serving on the Board for Project Glimmer, a national organization that supports foster girls. Renée is passionate about the mission of Metallica's All Within My Hands as set by the Board of Directors and she still can't believe she gets to help support communities around the world.

    Renée is originally from Rockland County, New York, she studied graphic design and advertising at SVA in Manhattan and moved to San Francisco in 1992 after falling in love with the city on a road trip. Still inspired by the power of music, Renée is always up for a live show, she still does a bit of sketching and painting, and will always lend her auctioneering skills to a worthy cause as she is a Missouri School of Auction graduate... sold!

    MJ DePalma's work has been covered in publications like Forbes and the ANA. She currently serves as the Director of Inclusive Marketing, Marketing Excellence at Microsoft. Stakeholder at developing key partnerships and C-level engagements. She recently finished a 6-month internal fellowship as Director of Strategy & Innovation within Microsoft Garage to build a public safety and justice solution to create a safe, just, and equitable society for everyone. As the Director of Inclusive Marketing for Microsoft, she pioneered Inclusive Marketing covering development of product, services, and experiences, and as something more than just multicultural advertising - it's Marketing with Purpose.  She has published the Marketing with Purpose Course and Playbook to enable anyone, no matter what role you have in a company, from the C-suite to the SMB, from marketing to engineering to build more trusted customer experiences.     Angela Northrup, Market Executive Director, Pacific Territory, ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

    For over 25 years, Angela has worked in the non-profit sector in California and New York.  She’s held development positions with United Way of NYC and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, prior to joining St Jude in philanthropic leadership roles spanning across California, Nevada, and Hawai’i.  Angela found her true passion leading fundraising teams and their collaborative efforts to bring together diverse donors, volunteers, and partners to raise millions of dollars for the mission of St. Jude: Finding Cure. Saving Children. Angela is based in North County San Diego and enjoys spending time being active with her husband, son, and dog.  As a dedicated hockey mom, you can often find her in the rink cheering on her son’s travel hockey team.
